Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 2024

1. Introduction

Continuum Labs Pty Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of children in early childhood education and care settings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our Continuum One compliance monitoring system.

2. Information We Collect

Website Visitors

When you visit our website, we may collect:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone number) when you submit forms
  • Company/organisation information
  • Usage data through analytics (page views, time on site)
  • Device information (browser type, IP address)

Continuum One System

Our Continuum One compliance monitoring system is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • Video data remains on-premise: All video footage is processed locally on your hardware. Raw video never leaves your premises and is not transmitted to Continuum Labs or any third party.
  • No facial recognition: Our system does not identify individuals. It counts people and analyses activities without creating biometric profiles.
  • Structured text outputs only: The only data transmitted from your premises to our dashboard (if you opt in) is structured text describing compliance observations (e.g., "Room 3: estimated 5-7 children, 1 adult visible").
  • No audio recording by default: Microphones on cameras are disabled by default.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information collected for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
  • To send you information about our products and services (with your consent)
  • To improve our website and services
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To generate compliance reports and alerts for your centre (Continuum One customers only)

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information:

  • Hardware-based encryption for all stored data
  • Secure, encrypted connections for all data transmission
  • Access controls limiting who can view data
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • On-premise processing architecture eliminating cloud vulnerabilities

5. Children's Privacy

We are committed to protecting children's privacy. Our Continuum One system is designed specifically to support child safety and compliance without compromising children's privacy. We do not collect personal information about individual children. Our system analyses environments and activities without identifying specific individuals.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. For Continuum One customers, local video storage retention is configurable (typically 90 days) and managed entirely on your premises.

7. Your Rights

Under Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

8. Third-Party Services

Our website may use third-party services such as analytics providers. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
